If you’re looking for more information on the people and organizations that make up AFREC, please visit our About page. If you have specific soil fertility questions, you can also contact an expert here.
AFREC research is incorporated into the University of Minnesota’s crop-specific fertilizer guidelines, which are available online at z.umn.edu/CropNutrients
AFREC research findings are communicated by University of Minnesota Extension specialists and educators through:
- U of M Extension’s website: z.umn.edu/NutrientManagement
- The Minnesota Crop News blog & email newsletters: z.umn.edu/CropNews
- YouTube videos: z.umn.edu/NMvideos
- The Nutrient Management Podcast: z.umn.edu/NMpod
- Facebook: Facebook.com/UMNnutrientMgmt
- Twitter: @UMNnutrientMgmt
AFREC research findings are also shared on the radio via the Linder Farm Network and the Red River Farm Network. You can listen to these radio spots on AFREC’s SoundCloud. You can also follow AFREC on Facebook and X.
AFREC funding supports the annual Nutrient Management Conference (z.umn.edu/NMcon) and Nitrogen Conference (z.umn.edu/Ncon). Both conferences feature presentations on AFREC research projects and allow attendees to ask questions and interact with AFREC-funded researchers.
AFREC research contributes to the database used for the regional corn nitrogen rate calculator: z.umn.edu/Ncalculator. The calculator allows users to input corn and nitrogen fertilizer prices to receive nitrogen rate recommendations based on recent research data from their state.
